Hiya
In my experience and during my training, I found the best salons and technicians to be ones trained by and who use Creative products. Theyll have signs on the windows and posters normally as they like to be recognized!
The other things to look out for is make sure all the files, buffers and other bits are sterilized and cleaned in between clients, not just lying about and reused each time.
If the technician doesnt sound like shes listening to your wants and needs thats normally a bad sign as if if she does what you want when its not really suitable ie. really long when youve never had nails past the end before. She should listen to you and give her professional advice and reach a point where you are both happy.
Another good sign is certificates on walls and always ask about Public Liability Insurances. If they dont have that, they shouldnt have your business!
Dont mean to make it sound scary but I hate seeing people get a bad deal.
Ive had a look on Yell and found these places - dont know how close to you they are. Hope one of them is near you!
