About 3 different people in my hardly populated, rural area and surrounding area have won over a million in that past year, so yes it can happen to you. I think the candy is a good idea though. My Mom is the one who told me to never give a lotto ticket as a gift, because you may regret it. The winner might just be very mean about winning too, and be the type who wouldn't offer to help you change a flat tire even after they won with the ticket you bought. I know lots of people like this. I would not risk it because you just never know.
