It is possible to get rid of the overhang and believe it or not it IS possible to get rid of the excess skin without surgery. However this takes tremendous discipline in your diet and exercise. it doesnt mean attending the gym all the time but it DOES mean doing some form of very high intensity cardio for about 20 -30 mins 3-5 times a week and following a diet where you eat NO CRAP at all! basically the diet consists of six small meals a day with protein and carbohydrate at every meal, and green veg at 2-3 of those meals. Drinking up to 3 litres of water a day. and using very natural seasonings and flavourings for meat etc, i.e. no jars of sauce that have high sugar content, no butter, no saturated fat, and eating only essential fats like oily fish etc. basically seeing a flat stomach is all about having a low body fat percentage. theres an old saying in the fitness industry that a six pack is made in the the kitchen. i.e. its all about what goes in ur mouth! i know you dont want a six pack, but the same rule applies. to get rid of the excess fat and skin, your body fat needs to come down - you could do sit ups and pilates exercises til the cows come home but if you dont eat "clean" 95% of the time it wont work. if you cant get to gym i would recommend a home DVD like Billys Boot Camp its really good and has a specific Ab Boot Camp which is good for the tummy. with the diet i mentioned above, you can have a "free day" on the 7th day where you can eat junk if you want, as long as you have been really good all week.

in the meantime, pilates is also good so if you can get to a good pilates class or purchase a good DVD its really good for strengthening the core and pulling all those muscles back together that got stretched during pregnancy.
