Question Sandwiches

Has anyone got any ideas about what to put in sandwiches. I need something that is tasty but healthy for work.

Any ideas you can come up with will be a great help!

Hmmmmmm...... trouble is the bread in sarnies uses up so many calories it doesn't leave you much for fillings.....

I'm a Slimming World devotee and am only allowed two 'free' slices of bread a day (one for brekkie, one for supper!). Have you thought about taking a big tupperware tub of salad to work? I do that - loads of healthy leaves but also tuna mayo, or chicken stuff, or whatever!

Sarnie fillings are a blank with me - I can NEVER make tasty diet sandwiches!!!!

I usually have a pasta lunch, but with summer coming up I thought I'd go for a cold option. I am not one for salads as I find them quite boring, and I detest lettuce! I am going to look in all my slimming magazines now, see what I can come up with!

I don't eat sandwiches either for lunch as they take up too many calories. I have an apple, banana, and another piece of fruit -clemtine, plum etc and then a diet yoghurt or a bag of diet crisps.

Sandwich fillings are a bit easier for me as I'm a veggie who can't stand stuff like mayonnaise so I'm therefore used to a very limited choice.

I tend to stick to the veggie 'meat style' fillings made with Quorn i.e. ham, beef or chicken flavour and they are pretty low cal and full of fibre so quite good for you.

I sometimes have low fat cheese spread with salad as well for a bit of a difference. Or just a boiled egg chopped up as that's a good source of protein for me.

Good luck with the hunt!

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.
