Default Alcohol..

Hiya!

I got a call from an old friend who I've not seen for ages and she wants to go out for drinkies tomorrow night.

We used to glug beers together as students and I don't know what I can drink that isn't going to ruin all the hard work i've put in over the last week or so..

are there any 'healthy' alcoholic drinks around? how about spirits are they okay?

please help because I don't want to sit there with a diet coke all night.

Alcohol in itself has loads of calories and then mixers have loads of sugar so together they are baaadddd drinks.
The lower cal drinks are as follows
any spirit with diet coke, slimline tonic or soda water with lime or black (not Baileys though)
Or you could have white wine or even better a white wine spritzer or perhaps low alcohol larger

I try and have half a (normal) lager cos that's what I like and then half a diet coke.

Remember that orange juice is quite high in cals, cocktails are evil, and alcopops are crammed with sugar.

Have lots of ice and drink slowly. Have fun

Thanks, guys.

I'll opt for Gin & lime then.

Not that I've ever really had gin before. Bet I'll be plastered after the first one, so won't need to worry about over-doing it on the cals!! hehe

Wish me luck!

Vodka is really low in calories so I always used to have vodka and diet coke (until I made myself ill on once !)

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;

I've heard that about vodka aswell. Apparently on that Atkins/ low carbohydrate diet thing, the bit on alcohol says that if you have to drink, drink vodka, (not that I've ever needed any encouragement on that one!!)

If your really worried, you could try alternating between just coke and coke with vodka?
have a good night anyhow,

A.

Hi!

I was really good (if boring) and only had two gin and tonics. But I ate a chilli I'm afraid. It was with rice rather than chips at least.

And no hangover today!! hurrah!!

Thanks for the help, girlies.
