Default Silly food names!

Hello,

Trying to make myself laugh cos despite two days of full-on angelic behaviour, I have put another pound on!!! What is wrong with me???

So tonight I was eating my ASDA low-fat bung-it-in-the-microwave-when-I-get-home chicken with lots of veg and found myself thinking about the brand name:

"Good For You" - fabulous!!! Has a double meaning - could mean "It's good for you" or "You're eating low fat food, Good for you!! Well done!!"

Which set me off thinking about M&S and their "Count on Us" which suggests that they count the calories and fat, but also that we can rely on them.....

And Sainsbury's "Be Good To Yourself" suggesting that it's a real treat to be eating their bland, fatless and overpriced options.....

And the magic words "50%less fat" without the added "But the other 50% is all fat and by the way, it's full of weird cancer inducing ingredients to replace the other 50%"

Ho-hum. Can anyone else think of amusing food names designed to fool dietiers? Or am I just a really sad person tonight??

Nikki xxx

Personally I've always been amused by advertising things that are 100% sugar as fat free!

Sugar free chocolate???

Or even better for me - dairy free cream that actually TASTES like cream & not something scraped off a farmer's wellie...

More jammie dodgers, anyone??

Don;t stop ranting - I think it's appalling!! You pay well over the odds for this stuff, it doesn't taste very nice and you have to read the back of the packs with a magnifying glass before you buy it.

50% less fat trifles - you'd weigh ten tons if you ate many of them!!!!

50% less fat Macaroni Cheese - I don't think so sonny!!!!!!

Some Healthy Choice options have more fat and calories than the normal versions!!!!!!!!

Keep ranting cos I don't have a solution - I'm too busy to cook from scratch so have to choose from about four overpriced but safe products then alternate the veg I have with them.......

Hi,

When I Joined WW I bought some great recipe books, and there are some recipes on there which are low in fat but DELICIOUS, and quick and easy to cook, much better than that packaged rubbish, low in fat, low in taste!

LOL
