Default Wish me luck

As you know the docs gave me a go with the fat eating tablets and today I'm at the docs. The tablets work great - if you eat fat! Thing is our diet is so low in fat my weight loss has been a lot less than most other peoples. Most people go on these tablets and immediately lower the amount of fat they eat. Naturally they lose a lot of weight - A, because they've cut out a lot of fat in their diet anyway and B, because the tablets take care of the rest of it. I couldn't reduce the fat in my diet at all. Daily guidlelines are for 70g of fat and on an average day I have 20g without cutting anything out.

So my weight loss on them is never going to be the half a stone in a week that many people get. I haven't been since before Christmas. I made sure I had plenty of tablets to see me through. I have to have lost a percentage of my body weight to stay on them and have been cowardly and not gone in case they take me off them because I've not lost enough. I figured if I had plenty of tablets I could hopefully leave my apointment longer and have lost the percentage I need to lose to stay on them. But I'm at the docs for HRT check today and I know he'll weigh me so today will be the decider on if I can have more or not.

I so hope I've lost the bit more I needed to lose to stay on them. I'd lost half a stone before Christmas on them so they're obviously working just a lot slower than with other people. If I can't have anymore of them I dunno what to do next as my weight just stands still otherwise. I can't cut anything else out of my diet and I still can't do proper exercise at the moment.

I think I had to lose another 5lb to be able to stay on them so please wish me luck

I'm back!! Good news and bad news! The bad news is I only lost 1lb But the good news is my lovely doc is of the attitude that better a couple of pound a month than the nothing at all without the tablets and has put them on repeat for me. Like he said my weight gain is hormonal which is so hard to lose and without help it's at a standstill. Also, as I thought, I don't eat enough fat for them to be as effective as they are with other people so it's never likely to be massive amounts of loss.

The alternative to try and lose the weight would be change of HRT but it's trial and error getting the right one and as this works perfect for everything bar weight I'm reluctant to change and he's reluctant to change it. I could just as easily end up on one that makes me put more on so it's just not worth it.

He's also changed my yearly bloods to six monthly and wants to do some further hormoney tests after I've had them done again in April.

Although I haven't lost a lot I'm happy that I can stay on the fat tablets And although I haven't lost a lot other people are starting to notice I have at least lost some. Oh and I'm also almost down a dress size so something must be working

I'm pleased you're able to stick with them Ang. Thats good news.

End of the day, you are healthy, you eat well and your HRT are perfect for you generally and the tablets are working slowly but surely. So I am happy for you that he's not taken them off you.

Onwards and upwards.. xx

I've just made my next weighing appointment for the week after next. I figured it was better to get weighed the week before my birthday rather than a couple of days after when I'm full of nice food and drink and literally rolling everywhere
