Following on from my thread earlier I need some help with regards to food.
I know that I have to take in enough nutrients to keep splodge and I fed but I just need some guidence as to what to choose. Im ok at fruit (eat about 3 pieces a day) and I always have 2 veg with my dinner. My problem really is that since becoming pregnant I cant seem to fill myself and when I feel hungry I start getting nausious <sp>. What healthy things can I nibble on to stop this??
Another thing I know Im RUBBISH at is portion size, any advice please?
I'd really appreciate any help / advice you have for me as I need to do something x x

Remember that the things around you are never as important as whose arms are around you.
Jenny I do all my weightloss through what I call the fat clinic at my GP. They gave me some literature from the British Heart Foundation about healthy eating including portion sizes etc. You can download the booklets from the bhf website.
this is the losing weight one I use and although you don't want to lose weight at the moment it's got healthy eating advice and portion sizes in

Don't know about the nausea but things that might help fill you up are slow release carbs. Porridge is excellent, brown rice, brown pasta. Have a look at the GI diet as slow release is one of the major factors The GI Diet - List of low GI foods

- popcorn that you pop yourself so that there's no added anything, just popped kernels.
- jumbo snack-a-jacks
- go ahead bars and biscuits
- plain jacobs cream crackers (i used to have one as soon as I opened my eyes in the morning or I'd )
- jaffa cakes, surprisingly not that bad for you and very low fat.

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.
Oh and instead of 3 set meals, it reached the point where I grazed all day as proper meals gave me terrific heartburn and I felt full too quickly.

For snacks what about things like carrot and celery sticks with hummous? I quite often nibble on that during the day.
I know that a portion of meat or fish should be about the same size as the palm of your hand. Well that is what my dietitian friend told me a little whle ago.
