I know, yet another knitting project - although this one is not all my fault! Eighteen months ago when my Nan was having her second hip replaced, and she was very bored in hospital, she decided that she fancied knitting something. In her Womans Weekly (or whatever) there was a pattern for a Bagpuss, so my Mum suggested that she knit it for me for Christmas.
So off Mum went to buy all the wool, and took in the needles and all, but Nan knitted one piece and decided that perhaps it wasn't knitting that she wanted to do after all

So Mum took over and desperately tried to finish it, but failed. No problem she thought, as my birthday was in January.
By this time though she has realised why my Nan gave up - it wasn't the easiest of patterns to follow.

So fifteen months ago for my birthday I received a 75% completed Bagpuss and a bag of wool! I quite quickly finished the knitting but then couldn't be a*sed to sew it together.
But at the weekend I saw a bag of stuffing in Hobbycraft and was inspired. In the end it only took a couple of evenings, and although it looks a very poor imposter of the real thing, I am quite pleased with it.

I have to take the left eyebrow off and re-attach it as it isn't quite right (but seeing as I cut that off in my photo, it doesn't really matter!) I now have to take him on a trip to Portsmouth to visit my Nan!
