Default Calling all cross-stitchers!!

Any one done any nice samplers recently? I'm looking for one for a nice, easy one, not a modern pattern, that I can adapt as a 60th birthday present for an uncle of mine who lives in an old house.

... Or have you done any nice wedding ones for yourselves or any one else?

... Or any nice ones of any sort?

I've never really done any cross stitch but have seen some lovely samplers. I'm getting tempted to give it a go one day.

It might be worth trying somewhere like Hobby Craft or one of the crafty websites.

I don't quite know what cross-stitch is, but I did take up embroidery so that I could embroider my wedding dress exactly how I wanted, and won't have to pay a fortune to have the dress I want.

Take a look at the home section on Sew and So (http://www.sewandso.co.uk). I'm not a fan of traditional samplers, so I can't recommend any particular designers. There are tons available, so have a hunt around on that site!
