hey lynda I did my own and I used card stock, You can get it in any business store but if your looking for colours your best bet for a nice selection is a scrapbook store or craft store that has scrapbook stuff. Just as them for cardstock and you'll find all the colours of the rainbow and more!

You should be able to put any card in your printer although most are standard A4 size. Don't have anything too thick either. I printed my own place cards and bought some really thick card but it was difficult to fold it. Otherwise you can buy plain place cards in craft shops.
