sorry to depress you all with chat about xmas, but me and my friend were talking about dosh for xmas tonight, and finally after years of chatting about crafty things, weve decided to join forces and have a go at making our own christmas cards, tags, prezzies etc!!!
my best bud is an art teacher, so she has the (ahem,) resorses, i have the time (just) and weve both got an endless supply of arts and crafts stuff, and lots of room,time and imagination to do it in!!!!
weve decided on a plan of action!

*get loads of inpiration, from library, craft shops and gift shops (cheating i know!)
*decide exactley what were gonna do
*get the stuff together
*make a conveyor belt prodution line, donna cutting, and embossing, me fidley bits and stamping!!!
blimey this could take some doing!!!!!

Great idea, I usually make my Xmas cards but leave it to the last minute so it's a big rush :-/

Really good DIY pressies that you can sort early on is infused vodka (lemongrass is particularly good) or infused olive oil (mmmm chilli).

What a great idea. I've made cards before but nothing else. I might have a go at making some tags and paper though.

Bit of advice.....

My best friend and I di this 2 years ago and decided to do a craft fair in November. We sold nothing!

Believe it or not most cards are sold in October so get moving. Craft fairs are expensive, but a good idea came to my desk at work last week. A lady brought in a small selection of cards and left them with reception for a week. She did the same to about 20 local offices and then came to pick them up later in the week. She sold almost all of them and it cost her nothing in stall charges!

The book man has taken on a whole new meaning now!

I usually make my cards but have never been bothered trying anything more. It's usually enough to get the cards done!

Sounds like a cool idea - how do you do it? Just put vodka in a posh bottle with lemongrass and let it stand for a few months? Any other flavors you would recomend? sounds cool tho and cheap and chearful to make
