Default Crystal and wire bouquet question

I have see this lovely alternative to a flower bouquet... I had decided not to carry anything but i have fallen in love with this. The only trouble is that it is 6 weeks to go and i had not budgeted in the £105 needed to buy one. I have checked on ebay and the crystals would cost about £6 and the ribbon isn't a problem as i have some left from my dress but I have no idea what sort of wire is used.

Does anyone make their own jewellery and if so can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Sara

Oooo, that's a lovely alternative!

You probably want Karen, she makes these sorts of things. I am sure she'd have loads of advice.

Thanks for those links Tweetiepie, I have had a good look on ebay and someone is selling a DIY kit for £30 but it says that it includes 24 gauge wire so i think i will go to hobby craft and see how much it costs there on its own. That seller have some lovely crystal bouquets but i am trying not to spend too much more on the wedding.

I hvae had a chat with Terry and we decided that if I want one i can have one but after looking at all the different bouquet styles i don't know what i want!

I can get a kit to make a posy style one for £30 or I have seen them for as little as £50 but I am not sure if they are as nice as the ones i saw originally. I have also seen some that are more shower like ( see attached) and like those too altohugh i am worred that they will be a bit much and not so simple and stylish......oh decisions decisions.

The burgundy one can be done to match my wedding colours.

They are really nice.

I use 28 gauge wire for my bead work.

I think I got it from hobby craft.

If you need any more info just give me a shout

The beads arrived today!!!! I have had a little play tonight to see how they will look and see if it is something i can actually do myself without totally messing it up.

Half an hour and very sore fingers later I have 28 stems with beads on, but i think i will need more wire as thats one reel finished already and only 5 supplied. Still thats pretty easy to buy.

I will take some photos over the weekend when i do some more to show you how i did it.

My bouquet is not yet finished but here it is so far. I am finding it quite easy although it does make my fingers ache after a while. I have run out of silver wire so have stopped for now but i hope i can carry on this weekend. I have also included my garter in the photo as i finished that last week.

Wow, you really are clever doing all of that. I wish I was arty, unfortunately my brother and sister inherited that gene and not me. Can't wait to see the finished item.

It is finished!!! It looks a little messy in this picture as i have not taken the time to 'arrange' the stems as they are going to be packed and arranged when we arrive at the venue.

I am pretty happy with how it turned out and it was a lot cheaper making it myself.
