Default buttonholes

I'm going to try and make my own button holes for the wedding as it will keep costs down and prevent hassle in the run up over what flowers are available when etc.

I don't want to use real flowers as I have hayfever and they'll be at just the right height for me to inhale!

I've thought about using some feathers, but what could I put with them to make them work as a buttonhole? and what would I need otherwise, tape etc?

My last foray into craft (of an inventive nature) was making hats out of garden wire..... so I could use some advice.

I don't know what to use to fasten them together but I love the colour of those feathers

If you wanted flowers, you can buy silk ones. We looked at silk flowers for the button holes but went for real ones in the end.

Cheers Bron, I have the feathers now and I'm gonna have a play over the next week or so and see what I can do......

I have wire, feathers, tape, willow and flowers just need to find where the wire cutters were hidden after my last foray!
