Jo (Lampygal) made her own wedding dress and I'm sure that might have been a corset top.

Lampygirl adapted an existing corset I think, it looked gorgeous. I had mine made to measure from an online store.

The way it worked was, i gave a load of measurements via email to the person making it and she made a mock up of the corset in a cotton fabric. She then sent it to me to try on and i emailed her back with adjustments and some photos of me wearing it.

She then adjusted it again and sent a 2nd copy. I tried it agin and was happy with the fit so she made the real thing and posted it to me.

I don't think it would be too tricky to make one yourself as long as you measure carefully and make it with strong fabric as it needs to take some strain when lacing it.

Yeah I got an existing one and covered and embroidered it. Didn't want to risk anything going wrong

I have made boned tops before, but it's quite tricky.

If you search with google you should be able to find some period patterns that are quite simple to follow. Some boned, some not and then you can adapt them....

I found a 'proper' corset pattern, you know the sort that instaed of the almost usless thin plastic boning stuff, has bones made of steel which are designed to cinch you in till your lungs come out of your nose type corset. So fingers crossed I will start on it soon.
