Hello,

I want to learn to knit! It is about time I learnt to do something so that is what i have decided to try, something i can do when L is in bed.

Is anyone able to recommend a book or even better a kit which includes needles and a ball of wool together with a complete idiots guide?

I don't know of any books or kits but someone else might. Do you know anyone that can knit? I found it easier copying my Nanna rather than reading and copying diagrams. Maybe if you could watch someone and learn from them it might be easier.

I've never knitted anything. My mum and MIL both knit though. I think the MIL is waiting for a grandchild so she can knit little booties.

I don't remember learning how to knit, but I am pretty sure that it was my Nan who taught me. I love the Stitch n Bitch books by Debbie Stoller. I think they have instructions how to knit, and lots of beginners patterns. I love knitting though and always have some on the go. I have just knitted myself a huge jacket, and am sewing it up. Then I have to decide who to knit for next Sirdar have some beautiful patterns out at the moment. It might have to be me again!
