Default Invitations

My mom and I are making the invitations. I am using hand made paper and my mom has pressed loads of little flowers and stems which we will then glue to the card and will paint a clear varnish of some sort over the flowers just to protect them.

Then all we have to do is print out the invites and slip those into the card.

As soon as one has been made I will attach an image.

I'm making my own invites too

For the day invites I'm cross stitching our names and date around a motif of a red heart in a gold box. They are going in a cream card with an oval cut out section and I'm sticking 2 red roses in the corners then adding a gold heart on gold cord to keep the middle page in the invite, if you know what I mean?

For the evening invites I'm using cream card and tearing red hand made paper into squares to stick on the front then using gold card I'm cutting out a heart shape appeture and sticking the whole gold box onto the red square with the middle heart bit missing..... get me?

I'm making the place cards and favours too, though the favours will be very easy to do!

We bought cards and envelopes and I tore squares of purple handmade paper, stuck them on at an angle and stuck a red paper rose on that.

We printed the insides of high quality tracing paper.

I thought they were fab - not quite sure what other people thought!!

It was so worth making our own invites as we have had so many complements. Ours were made entirely from scratch except we bought the envelopes. We cut glued and folded all of the paper. basically they were a little book of pearlised paper with the invitate and all the extra infomation slipped inside a paper pocket with a seashell stencil shape cut out of it backed by tracing paper so the pink coluor of the invite booklet showed through. They were tied with cord and one the cords there were paper bells threaded, each one with the name of the people invited.

No scanner so you will have to use your imagination!

Wow Eleanor, that sounds amazing - how long did it take you to do all that??
They really sound beautiful. Pity you can't scan it in.
