Default What have you madefor the wedding?

I am quite proud of my home made bits for the wedding. It's the first time in years I have done crafty stuff. I have made, with lots of help from H2B:
my tiara
the cravats
the cake
the table names and stands
the invites
the table plan
decorated the bubble pots
the menu
the order of services
place names

and I still have my bag to sew!
but it has been lots of fun and I have got stuff that you could never buy - until I set up a little shop sometime...

When you start up your shop Eleanor, you should make it a chain and I'll open a branch in Shrewsbury for you! We should all get together and make a chain all over the country. I would love to make weddingy bits from home, although not to the extent of starting my own business.

I have made the invitations, tiara, veil, decorated my shoes, and written a wedding newsletter. I am working my way through orders of service, place settings/favours, table plan and thank you cards. My mum has made my dress and my bridesmaid's dress and the cake.

I have so enjoyed it that I am hoping to hijack somebody else's wedding after this so that I don't get withdrawal symptoms.

Nicola

I will be doing calligraphy on the invitations once they are printed... I can manage to do the names by myself but the rest of the insert would be beyond my skill. The thought of using a proper quill is actually quite scary (can't use metallic ink in a fountain pen ) I'll buy one around about Christmas and practice on all the christmas cards.

Other than that, I'm making nothing other than numerous phonecalls!

Thanks, Emma! That shop sounds fantastic! I'm in Reading, so popping down to Windsor shouldn't be a problem. The Queen would give me afternoon tea, wouldn't she?

Could you give me the name & address of the shop? We might pop down at the weekend since we're trying to avoid the Reading Festival - it has a marvellous way of turning me into a middle-aged housewife who mutters about the youth of today!!

Damn and blast i can't remember the name of the shop, so i'm going to hope ypu know windsor, if you go into the royal station from the castle end ( you know the bit with all the posh shops), you will see the covent garden soup shop on your left, next to that is the peter rabbit shop and the shop you want is at the end of that little bit of shops, its a fanct card shop that sells gifts as well, so its on the left after peter rabbit but before french connection, honestly it makes sence if you atre there

I have made:

Three flower girl dresses
Two bridesmaid dresses (with stoles)
I also covered one pair of bridesmaid shoe in beads (as we could not find a pair of shoes to match the dress)
And with the other bridesmaids shoes I replaced the silver flower on the front with a home made red rose
The cake
Table cards for the cameras
The table plan

And I think that is it!

For the wedding i am making 4 bridesmaid dresses.
I am also having a go at decorating the glassware for the wedding...maybe putting names on the wine glasses instead of pace cards.
I have also been teaching myself calligraphy so i can write out the invitations as i have bought pre-printed ones from WHSmiths.

Hi everyone.

i am going to makemy own favours. i am going to use some ivory tulle and tie with pink ribbon and i also have some ivory roses which i am going to decorate them with. I am going to get some chocolate hearts covered in gold foil, or some pink and white heart sweets, not quite decided yet to fill them.

I am also going to make my own invitations. again using ivory roses, ivory card, some pink fabric and ribbon. Well thats the plan for now anyway!

Well, I will be making...

...myself very drunk. It is my one real talent and intend to excel with it on my wedding day. But if I can't manage this, I will make love instead (providing that the h2b doesn't indulge in his drinking talent too much!).

Can't believe that you are all so talented! (and I mean really talented!!!) Have become very depressed having gone into Crafty Brides....Happy that h2b does not go into this site!
