Question What to put in invites?

The love of my life (although he is in the dog house at the moment...long story!) will be designingthe invites and i have just realised that i am not 100% sure what to put in them. i know that we need dates and addresses of the church and reception and also to mention the fact that it our wedding but what else should we put in?? I have thrown out invites that we have received in the past and now wished I didn't...! All I can remember in them was the style of the invites and not the important stuff inside!

Please help!!!!!!

thanks
Jacqui

You might want to add:

List of hotels / B&B's in area
List of taxi phone numbers
Whether there is overnight parking at your venueWhat dress code is if any
Possibly a map of the area for people out of town

And the actual invite of course

Hope that helps

Our venue is about three quarters of an hour away from where we live so we have put on a coach for our guests.

I printed an A5 info sheet off the computer and included the coach times, a map of how to get there if anyone driving, wedding list info and also asked if anyone was vegetarian or had special diet requirements.

The easiest way to do a guest list is choose a shop or website and pick everything off that! Then you don't get thirty four toasters! A lot of people use Debenhams or M&S - my SIL2b is going for John Lewis which is very nice...... or some websites do them! C****** do but there are better ones!

It depends how you want to do it. I have decided to put out the invites with the following wording:

Mr. name of your parents if hosting
requests the honour of the presence of
………………………………………..
at the marriage of his daughter
your name
to
his name
at the Place of marriage
on day, date (with th etc) Month (in words), year
at time o’ clock.
The reception details here

R.S.V.P Dress Code
your/parents address any dress code
Obviously the wording will be centered.

I am also sending out RSVP cards which has a gap for people to put dietary requirements. Once I recieve a Yes I am sending out a little info pack with maps etc. I decided I wanted people to just recieve a pretty invite and not a mass of god knows what all together.

Good Luck and hope it helps.

How about policy on ********, reminder that mobile phones should be turned off (yeah, I know you'll need the Ushers to remind guests on the day). We do not want video cameras and are politely telling our guests so!
