Default Save the date cards

I'm thinking about making these to send with the christmas cards, but right now feeling a bit uninspired. I want to make my invites too, so are they supposed to be in the same style? Cos I don't know how I'm doing the invites yet!
What's the usual size, what do you put in them ("Please don't go on holiday"?!), when do you need to send them..??? :hmm: If anyone has any pics or links for funky save the date card designs or wording etc (actually, anything that may help me), post them, please!

I asked the very same questions over in "Wedding Chat" (only yesterday) and Bianca gave me a brill reply with what to write in them.

I'm making my own to send out with my Christmas cards this year and we really are just having a slip of paper. I'm trying to get a font that I will use for the invites too (as I'm making them also) and I've included the motif for our wedding in them.

I'm having:

We're getting married!
27th December 2003
(motif) (pic of me and h2b) (motif)
Please keep this date free!
(Details will be sent at a later date)

It will be centralised on thickish cream paper with a gold border drawn on.

Hope this helps!

Ta Beth! Just wondering what I want mine to look like now... No, not really of earth shattering importance, but hey, I'm making them...
