Default free sewing patterns on the internet??

Does anyone know if there is a place on the net where you can download free patterns for clothes??? Ive found a load for housey stuff (tablecloths etc), but I was looking for a straight strappy dress design. Anyone help???

Love Dawn xx

Sorry, I don't know of anywhere but what a fantastic idea if you are clever enough to make your own clothes.

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

Oooh, how spooky - I was about to ask the same thing... I've seen www.sewdirect.com (I think) advertised in a couple of wedding mags, but I was a bit annoyed the pics weren't clearer (too small)... I think you order them and they're sent in the post. Maybe will have to get searching, I'll report back when I find something good!

I'd love to make my own clothes - not sure if I would be any good at it though! I will have a go one day...

I've bought quite a few things from sew-direct and they are really good service wise. If they don't have the pattern in stock (as they come from america) they'll let you know so you're not just hanging around.

They are quite reasonable too.

That or look on ebay, there are quite a few there.
