Anyone been to Mexico - Wedding Forum

We're thinking of going on holiday to Mexico in September. Just wondering if anyone has been and what it is like. Anything you have to see. We've found a diving holiday there but just wondered what its like.

My CBM who sometimes comes on here went last summer and LOVED it!! She went to Cancun (sp?) and wants to go back again. She swam with dolphins, and althought it was about 150 quid each she told me if we ever went we should do it cos its amazing.

She's on hols at the mo until next thursday but I'll ask her to log in and tell you more.

My friend who is canadian goes every year - for them it's like us going to Spain! He loves it - he says the beach holidays are fantastic!

Mexico can be brilliant. The beaches are gorgeous (especially around the "Mayan Rivera" in the Yucatan - perfect "white sugar" sand), there's Mayan ruins and the people can be really lovely.

A "must see" place in the area is Tulum, which combines the best of everything: beautiful white beach (with NO hotel developments because it's a park - just beach huts, and hotels in a nearby town), Mayan ruins on a cliff overlooking the beach, jungle, etc. It's completely different from Cancun, which has great hotels and bars but not much "Mexico."
