Finally booked our holiday! Turned out to be not as straightforward as we thought, since the holiday camp in France we wanted to stay in couldn't accommodate us in a mobile home for the first 3 days, so we've opted to do a "2 centre holiday". We're doing Dover to Calais on the 6th September, then find somewhere to stay for the night, then amble down to the Vendee (half way down the west coast) where we are staying here for 3 nights :

We then go down the coast to our fave campsite for 7 nights :

We stayed here 3 years ago, the beach is amazing. Its not far from the Spanish border, and since its one currency now we can go into Spain and not struggle with the tolls/parking this time. I fancy taking a trip to Bilbao to see the Guggenheim museum, Architecture Culture Vulture that I am
Couldn't believe the difference in price though, cos we orignially wanted to do Portsmouth to St Malo which is an overnight crossing. By switching to Dover-Calais and finding somewhere to stay for a night to break up the longer travelling time, we've saved about £400, and the whole holiday isn't costing 75% of that!!!!!
