We are going to NY 9th November and I am abit worried as the presidential elections are taking place the week before. There are "stories" that there will be terrorist attacks at points throughout US. What do you guys think? Not sure if we hsould move the dates and if so when etc. Help!

Don't let it run your life... if there are higher risks around that time, there will undoubtedly be higher security as well.
You'll have a fab time!
I'm dead jealous as I've always wanted to go to NY, I'll get there someday though.

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.
That link looks really good. Going to see what we can do whilst we are there, thank you. Pls post pics. I know what you all mean about more security. Thanks guys.

Go, go, go! I agree with the rest - security is bound to be very tight in the USA at such an important time for them. Sooo jealous - I'd love to go to NY, you might get some early christmas pressies, skate at the Rockerfeller Centre ..... have a great time!

Another one who thinks you should go. The security in the states is going to be so tight during that period that the chances of something happening are probably less likely than another time.
I think you should go and you will have an amazing time. Security will be tighter and there is much less chance of anything happening. You go and have a great time.
I'd love to go there too.

Just thought I'd let you know that my boss has just got back from NY and had an amazing time. He went 10 years ago, and said he felt so much safer this time around. Lots of policeman and security around, but they were very friendly and helpful to tourists and not intimidating at all
