Thumbs up Fantastic hotel!

We had our night away last night and it was brilliant. We stayed here http://www.dakotahotels.co.uk/hotel.htm and I can't recomend it enough. The rooms were lovely I've never slept in a bed as comfy. The staff were brilliant, so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The food was out of this world.

We got there a bit later than we wanted to as we had to drop something off at Brians mums, dumped our stuff in the room and popped into Nottingham for a couple of bits we needed - YSL Volume Effect Mascara for me after Karen Michelles recomendation a few weeks ago. Then back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. When I booked they recomended we book a table in the grill as it's so popular with non residents that it's packed.

The restaurant was really nice. It was real softly lit so from a distance it looked quite dark but once we got sat at the table the low light and candles made it lovely and it felt like we were the only ones in there because of the lighting. The food was fantastic. Brian actually asked them could he move in the food was so nice! Even though they were really busy nothing was rushed and they were really attentive. After we'd eaten we sat at the bar and the bar staff were just brilliant. I sat drinking champagne cocktails till 2am. They run out of lemon sorbet needed for the cocktail I was drinking (I had that many of them!) and so they took it in turns to make one up for me with whatever they grabbed first and had a competition to see who's I liked best. They were fantastic! Then the chef came and sat with us and told them he had more lemon sorbet in the kitchen so I was back on those again.

Everyone working there were brilliant and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The automated larders aren't in place till next month and so there were freebies in the room with an appology that the larders aren't in place yet. We're going back in October for Brians 40th and after telling my friend about it today her and her boyfriend are coming with us. I can't wait! I could have stayed there all week it was so nice. Anyone that's ever that way it really is worth going to. When I phone to book I have to ask them to tell the bar staff to get extra lemon sorbet in!

Here's a few pics of the room.

Wow, it looks really lovely. We live in Nottingham so not far at all. I've been past it but assumed it would be really expensive. It's not though is it?
Thanks for telling us all about it. x

Thanks Mazz

Rach it's not expensive at all. At weekends it's £69 a room - £79 through the week. The meal was as cheap as anywhere else but far better than anything else I've tasted. A bottle of wine was the same price as most restaurants charge. The bar prices were slightly higher than in a pub but you expect that with a hotel. The little things made that seem to not matter though such as freezing the glasses so beer is ice cold. We were really surprised with everything. If I had the money we'd go every weekend - or like Brian said go live there lol.
