Has anyone been to Paris recently? I'm planning a week end trip to Paris with my best friend (and possibly both our mums) in late November. We're looking for a nice, central hotel but I'm not sure which areas to look for - near some shops (Galleries Lafayette??) and cafes/restaurants. Also needs to be somewhere close to a metro station, as I may treat my friend to a trip to the Louvre (or another art gallery if anyone knows of any?) since she's really into art.

Any ideas for hotels and restaurants and some nice, unusual shops would be very welcome.

Our gorgeous little bundle of pinkness was born on the 28th January 2007

Check out "Hotel Champs du Mars". Its really small but pretty and right in the heart of Paris ( you can see the Eiffel Tower from the window) Defo go to the Louvre, Im not into art but it is AMAZING!!
