We're off to Barbados on Thursday to celebrate our first anniversary. Sounds great but there's a huge hurricane called Ivan lurking about with a 68% chance of hitting Barbados at some sped

Not sure yet if we'll even get there and how badly the island will be hit. Will know better around lunch time tomorrow so only time will tell but I'm not really in the mood for packing now and I'm glued to the satellite weather.

I saw this on GMTV news this morning and it looked rough.

What does the travel agent say....are you insured if you dont go for acts of god or anything?

Update - I've been on hurricane watch all day at work - scanning CNN weather.com etc and thankfully the hurricane's centre seems to have passed Barbados and they have downgraded the warning in Barbados from hurricane to tropical storm so at least the damage to the island won't be so bad and we should get there, even if we are delayed. I'd better pack tonight and will take my fleeces, a big cross stitch and loads of books with me in case the weather is really poor!!!

I am pleased that you are going to go at least.

It's a worry of ours as we're due to go to Florida in 3 weeks.. and mother nature has been so p*ssed off lately, there is no saying whether or not a hurricaine could return.

I hope this is the end of all the miserable horrible evil weather!!
