Default Budapest piccies

Here goes!

The first one is Buda from the Pest side of the river (the 2 towns were united into one sometime in the 19th century), then Pest from the Buda side, the Great Market hall where they have fantastic foods on sale (fresh veg etc) and finally, Niall and me at the wedding we went to.

Hope this works...

Rachael

yup, mad panic the night before we flew out as I had planned to wear a dark skirt and black top and only learned at last minute that you do not wear black to a Hungarian wedding! So, it's a hard life but I had to go and spend lots of cash in Monsoon!

Nice to "meet" you and the hubby too (why did I imagine you with dark hair?)

gosh, i've no idea! would love to be dark haired though.

Budapest really is lovely, that's the 2nd time we've been and I'd recommend it to anyone. My friend is director of an english speaking childcare centre out there and has a great time. It was his wedding we were at and it was good fun. Somehow, he's managed to get to know a guy who seems to be the hungarian version of Gary Linekar - hungarian captain, football commentator and now presenter. Niall was well impressed!

Ohh...I love Budapest - it's so lovely & very cheap when I went there in '96. We went up to a restaurant up on Castle Hill & ate goulash & choccie cake in a restaurant fromn the 1500's. I so want to go back & see if it's changed any!

We were there three years ago as well Diane and it hasn't changed much since then (except to get more expensive!), they are still working on the same buildings as they were in 2001!

Honestly, Jenny, you should definitely go. Your main cost is in flights as it is still fairly cheap when you get there. Their clothes are very nice too (and cheap!), if I had felt brave enough to manage asking about sizes while I was there, I could have spent a fortune!
