Cool Advice on wedding in Lapland please!

Hello everyone,

I have just registered with the site as it looks really useful! We are planning to get married in Finnish Lapland in February 2006 and was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice?

We've found a venue we like (http://www.kakslauttanen.fi/) so that's one hurdle down, but still have so many things to sort out!

One big thing I need to sort out is my wedding dress. I want a traditiona white bridal gown, but if we are to marry in an ice chapel I will need something that will keep me nice and warm. Any ideas from anyone who has done anything similar would be greatly appreciated!

TIA everyone :-)

Hiya & welcome to Groovy.

Oooh the venue looks wonderful. It does!

Sorry I dont know a think about marrying in Lapland, but hopefully someone else might be able to help.

You could have a nice white fur coat (or something) over your dress. I am sure I have lots of bridal coats in recent winter wedding magazines.

Good luck with all of your planning.

Karen x

wow wow wow wow wow , how brill would it be for you and your guests to stay in igloo's! Fantastic, and sooo romantic looking out on to the stars.

I have seen some fab trad shite wedding dresses with coats over them that have fur on, then you could have a fur muff (no jokes please) and even fur boots under your dress (jimmy's aren't going to work in ice are they)

What an amazing venue for a wedding. Can i ask does it cost a fortune?

Welcome again, will look for wintery wedding pics for you x

Welcome to Groovy! That place looks gorgeous. Really beautiful what a great place for a wedding. I'd go with what Karen and Rooley have said with the coat over a dress. I've seen some lovely coats with hoods. Or how about a cloak?

What a fab place for your wedding!

One of my cousins got married in white velvet, with a white muff?

Have a look at this website for cloaks, etc - if you contact them, they can sometimes make things for you individually:-

Welcome to Groovy.

That place looks fantastic. What a wonderful setting for a wedding.

I've seen some lovely long coats to go over wedding dresses or some lovely cloaks too.
