Question Early booking versus last minute?

If there's a specific holiday you want, i.e. tailormade in more than one place where you know exactly which resorts and hotels you want to stay in and you have fairly fixed dates, when would you book?

Would you book as soon as you can and hope for an early booking discount, would you hold off and see if the price goes down, or would you try and get a last minute bargain and hope that you can still get your hotels?

Answers on the back of a postcard please. Oh okay, you can vote in the poll instead.

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

If it's a tailormade holiday then I would book, regardless of price as I'm getting what I want, when I want!

I tend to book last minute hols at latest 6 weeks before, as I like to know where I'm off to and get prepared.

Weekends away are, however, a completely different story

If you want specific hotels and resorts and then I'd book it now. If you don't really mind then you can go for last minute.

At least if you book it now, you'll know you've got exactly what you want.

Where is it you fancy going??

I would definitely book early if it's important for you to go & stay exactly where you want. If you do this though I wouldn't keep checking the prices nearer the time!

We booked our honeymoon a month before the wedding & got a really good price but we wasn't really that bothered where we went.
