Well, we've just got back from a month around Scotland! We have had a very peaceful time, and I think it was just what we needed to let us think about what has happened so far this year, and to just be our little family. We got to visit some lovely places, and I am sure that Sofia was with us in spirit.
We started of with a night in stoke on trent, followed by - 3 nights in the lake district, 4 nights in ayrshire, 2 nights in helensburgh, 2 nights in oban, 2 nights in barra, 1 night in benbecula, 1 night in harris, 6 nights in lewis, 1 night in harris, 3 nights in skye, 1 night in balamory, 2 nights in south mull, 1 night in carlisle, and 1 night in mansfield.
We have travelled countless miles, have packed and unpacked the car endless times, have written Sofia's name on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, have eaten the worst curry ever created, have stayed in Josie Jumps house, have taken about 10 ferry trips, we've seen 4 seal colonies, thousands of sheep, several eagles, we've slept in a blackhouse village.
All in all we have had a wonderful and very busy time. Now we are home, and reality is sinking in again. Trent starts a new job on wednesday, and life will be back to my new normal.
I have learned a whole lot about how to do a road trip with a toddler, and if anyone wants any trips, just get in touch!!!
take care,
Louise xxx

The mention of my child's name may bring tears to my eyes,
But it never fails to bring music to my ears.
If you are really my friend,
let me hear the music of her name!
It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul!
Maybe we could have a new sticky thread for travelling with child tips??

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.
Welcome back! Well done on coping so well with a toddler and glad you had a good time and time to reflect. I'm sure Sofia was with you, laughing at the happy times and comforting you at the sad times.

It sounds like a wonderful trip and one that has done you a lot of good. Although it must have been hard work with a toddler sometimes that's what's needed isn't it? Well done for doing so well with it and nice to have you back.

Remember that the things around you are never as important as whose arms are around you.
Sorry for the lack of photos, Trent has comprehensively stuffed our main computer, and I have yet to work out how to do photos on the laptop!!! I will persevere.
