We've booked our hols!
We finalised our summer hol today, and are doing something different this year. For one we are going away during August (argh) and we are going to the South of France hurrah! Flying to Turin and then driving to a villa near Nice, and spending a week in the sun eating fish and drinking bottles upon bottles of red wine. Bonus points are that we are going with another family with a girl the same age as A, so she gets a playmate for the week!

This looks fantastic. Just the kind of thing I would like to do with Nick. Don't want to sound nosey, but is it very pricey? It is something we have been talking about looking into.

Hels I searched for weeks for something in a decent price range near to the beach. It's £850 for 4 adults and 3 kids for the week including linen. Flying there varies, Turin from Stansted is £216 for three of us (bargain) with Ryanair, and hiring a car is about £170-250 depending on what you have for 9 days.
Much cheaper out of school hols, all comes down by about half price!

That sounds good for school holidays. I could probably go in late June or early July before the kids break up, so might be worth considering for next year. Not sure we can afford it this year as we've had quite a year of holidays!
I'll have to show Nick later, I think he will love it though.

just changed the itinery actually, found some flights from bham to marseille, so going there and not turin before Nice! yay!

We're back from above hols and they were FABULOUSO. I would post some pics if Groovy would let me but it wont so I wont. wouldnt recommend staying a night in Marseille like we did, as it's a shithole, but the last two nights in Aix-en-Provence were AMAZING and Villefranche where we stayed (and Elton John has a house dahling) was so gorgeous as was the villa. Want to go straight back please!
Wouldnt recommend using Europcar from marseille airport either, wankers.
