I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

Yay! It worked! Except I'm a thicko and didn't realise you could book to stay over the weekend and booked Mon to Thurs for Dublin! It wouldn't work for Birmingham though so have to go from East Midlands - but that only adds another £13pp for coach fare. Still a bargain!!!

There are some flights still available without taxes...

try MoneySavingExpert: Consumer Revenge, Credit Cards, Shopping, Bank Charges, Cheap Flights and more to search for flights.

According to the thread on MSE, the 1p-zero taxes are valid for flights Monday-Thursday.

Look at the availibility which tells you what flights haven't sold out or almost sold out. If your chosen one is almost sold out you have less chances of getting the dates you want or if it's sold out for 1p then you'll get the next cheaper option - one of the places we fancied was showing as final seats and so we got £3.99 each way. The thing that stopped us was we could only get flights from London by which time we'd finished with costs of getting there we may as well pay more and go direct from an airport up this way.
