Just got back from a gorgeous weekend on the Isle of Wight. I love that place so much that it makes me want to cry when we leave. I haven't been like this since I was a kid and had to leave my Gran's.
We stayed in Freshwater Bay - it's one of the best places on the planet. I could live on that beach just poking around and playing with the pebbles. It's one of those places that never looks the same when you come back and visit.
In fact the whole Island is fab. If you're like I was (used to turn my nose up thinking it was just full of old people) please, give it a try.
I'm off to sulk now. Got a crappy work at week to look forward to.
I don't want to go back to work tomorrow either. When I left on Fri I had asked for Tues off as Grace has the measles and can't go to nursery. My manager was horrible about it and made me feel like crap
I hope your week goes better than you think

I love the Isle of Wight. We went over for the weekend in the summer and had a lovely time. Its quite easy for us to go over for the day as well which we've done a few times.

Awww, hun, know exactly how you feel! I love the Island too. Thing for me is, that my Grandparents used to live there, so it is also like leaving my Gran's every time we leave!
We still have their house, about a 10 minute walk from Freshwater Bay, and my Great Aunt, who is 96, still lives next door on her own! We all take it in turns to go down and visit so she never feels lonely.
Fab fab place and so lovely for kids too. Shame the high street is dying in Freshwater, but there you go. How was Farringford??

Farringford Hotel, IOW
Wow! I didn't realise you knew Freshwater so well. I have a little keyring with a Freshwater bay sunset on it. I've had it for years and always look at it.
Ben's been looking into commuting from there, but its just way too long a journey (even though he does work from home 2 out of 5 days.) It just wouldn't be fair.
So, I'm going to start doing the lottery again.
I feel a bit better today since I found out the promotion I've been hanging on for is coming up soon and I reckon I've got a good chance.
If I get it, I'll book another trip to to the IoW!!
You have to go, Dawnie. Its such a fab place. Grab a cheap weekend there off-peak (now is a fab time because you still get sunny days!)
If you're looking for somewhere to stay, I'd def suggest Farringford. We got a buy one night get one free deal (inc the car ferry and breakfast) - it was an amazing deal.
Anyhow, don't let me know if you go cos I might get jealous!
