I went to S harm el S heikh on honeymoon and stayed all inclusive in the C onrad Hotel. Everything was great apart from both of us became ver very ill and couldn't eat. It took me months and months for my stomach to get back to normal, if it ever has.

Lots of people at different hotels were ill too. If you go then I would recommend taking some antibacterial hand sanitiser to use at meal times and after handling the money.

We were really pleased with the hotel, the food was lovely - though many british were complaining there were no burgers and chips! That's the last thing I want when I am away. We got a good deal through F irst C hoice.

We flew to C airo and went to the museum and pyramids etc which was fantastic.

We stayed here:
Sharm El Sheikh Hotels: Conrad Sharm El Sheikh Resort

I am glad I have been, but would not go back to Egypt as I never want to be that ill again. I think we were just unlucky as I know many who have been and were just fine.

Hi
We did a Nile Cruise about 5 years ago and it was amazing. A great way to get to see everything from Luxor to Aswan, the Valley of the Kings, Aswan Dam and loads of other amazing places - my favourite as the Temple at Philau - absolutely beautiful - see my flickr pics, link below.
The second week we went to El Gouna on the Red Sea which was very different but amazing as well. It was then a very tiny resort more or less man made around lagoons, we stayed at the Movenpick which at the time was brand new and beautiful.
We did a trip up to Cairo which was a very long day but well worth it.
Can you guess - I would totally recommend Egypt - you should be prepared to expect a fair bit of begging children but if you take along a small supply of pens/pencils there will be very grateful - at least that was the situation when we went, I don't know if things have changed?

Me and my mum did the same as Kas and took a nile cruise for a week from Luxor to Aswan, a great way to see lots of different temples/places of interest etc (although I did get a bit "templed out" by the end!) - we also took an extra inernal flight form aswan to the temple of abu simbel - a truly breathtaking piece of construction!

We then had 3 nights in cairo which was also fab, visiting museums and the puramids (and being offered 100 camels for my mum )

I'd love to go again with Mark, and to try Sharm el Sheik/Red sea area.

HTH, Lo xx
