Paula, Just to add we went to Vegas and then to LA and SanFrancisco for our honeymoon and fo me the best bit was Vegas (followed by LA - I didn't like San francisco really) and we will definately go back as there is so much more to see. We had 4 days and you could easily spend a week. We will stay at the Mandaly Bay next time as we thought it has the best restaurants, evening entertainment and pools - and you can stay away from the gambling - which I couldn't be bothered with. The Luxor would come a close second though. Everything is expensive, but good quality so we didn't resent spending.

There are lots of excursions. We went on a jeep with another family to the Grand canyon and the Hoover Dam and although it took all day we saw so much. We went to an Indian reservation, through a Joshua Tree forest down Route 66 and to some really Hickville places - but I love seeing the off the beaten track type of stuff.

The only thing I's say to you is Jetlag. It killed me on the way back, but if you fly out to Las Vegas and then go to the Maldives over the pacific and then fly back over the Middle east you might be ok. The other thing is that only Virgin fly direct to Vegas (and only on Sunday (early) and Thursday) - so you will probably have to change plans which adds to the journey time.

You only have one Honeymoon so do what you want.
