honeymoon problem (again!)

no, not a problem with booking (all done), the destination (ab fab and can't wait) or anything. its the issue of charlie's care hilst we're away.

when we decided on the wedding date chris' mum and dad offered to take the following week off work so we could either go away or just have some alone time. we thought this was great and they're excited for us now we've decided and booked. the situation is perfect cos he has his own room and bed etc at their house, they have no other children to get to school etc (as my mum does) and they've booked time off work.

however i now have the great task of telling my mum (who is notoriously jealous of chris' mum) that charlie will be staying with them whilst we go away (she assumed i think that we'll be taking charlie with us). i know that she's gonna kick off (or worse just ignore me) and be hurt. that wasn't my intention but charlie staying with chris' m&d is far more parcticle. last time we asked my mum to have charlie overnight she made a big fuss cos she said he wouldn't settle in their campbed and it'd be a hassle what with getting little bro to school etc.

so basically i'd be buggered if i did ask her and i am buggered cos we didn't ask her.

its just more practical, but try explaining that to her!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like it does make much more sense for Charlie to stay at Chris parents while you are away and hopefully your mum will see that. Whatever happens, you both know youve made the right decision and try not to let it ruin the run up to the wedding - even if your mum does take it bad to start with, hopefully by the time you go away, she will see that its the best idea and shell be fine with it. Hope you get it sorted though x

Good Luck! Not being in that sittuation I don't know what it's like but I can understand! Charlie will be staying in the best place. and I'm sure your mum will see it that way, eventually!

I cant offer advice, but wanted to say i agree with you. It does make more sense this way. Hope your mum can see that.

Do Chris' Mum and your Mum live anywhere near each other ? Would it be practical for them to share the care???? Parents can be so difficult cant they. Luckily as my Mum and Dad run there own buisness they can see the practicalities of us leaving Adam with Simons parents when were on honeymoon.
