just thought I would drop a line regading booking holidays/honeymoons!
We are lookiing to go to the maldives for our honeymoon. After hours of search on the net we have found one that has everything we both want (including a TV in the room - Trev's idea!!). We were going to go through this agency who quoted £2500 ish for 1/2 board, speed boad to the island and flights. fine, we were expecting something like that. Then T suggested to contact the resort ourselves and check out their prices of booking direct. Before flights but including a sea plane, 1/2 board, etc, it was £2300 for the two of us....the flight would not be more that £600 each probably be cheaper! so before you are booking have a look at booking direct with the resort...you should be able to save!
now I have to nag Trev to book it this week as he is the one with the credit card!!
We were considering the presidential suite first...till we found out how much it would cost us...just over £10,000 for 10 nights!!! now that to me is a mad amount of money to spend on a couple of weeks rest!!!!
It sounds lovely!! We areally want to go to the Maldives too, it is suppsoed to be wonderful
We are hopefully booking our honeymoon in Jan. We asked how much it would be to fly business, and it would be almost 7 k EACH. Think we will stick to economy...
No!!! I am seriously thinking about divorce...but perhaps a bit premature! He has rang the company that we were going to go through to get them to explain why we have to pay a grand of a difference...they didn't have a lot to say on this other than, em? well? er? I think he said that they said that they were throwing in a bottle of champayne...must be avery expencive bottle!
He is also contacting the resort direct today about booking it....I think the only reason that he is eventually getting around to it is that he has finally got sick of my verbal abuse! (I threw a strop about this last night!!). Isn't awfull that I had to resort to that just so he would book the bloody thing! I understand that men generally don't like to have anything to do with the wedding other than turn up on the day but ....ok, Ill stop ranting now...sorry about that! feel much better now!
T sounds like Matt when it comes to some things! ~
I'm always having to remind him to do things, and I'm sure the only reason he eventually does do it is to stop hearing me moaning at him! (This happened with him sorting out stuff to do with the wedding, drove me potty!)

OK, the latest installment on this:
Didn't bother really talking to him when he fell in the door at 12 last night, after he had a "quick one" after work (and there's me thinking that he had been mugged again). This morning he said that he is now just waiting for them to come back to him today regarding the times of the flights...Crap! I know from experience that this would only take minutes!!!! Not a happy camper! But he will get it done.....or he will be done....!
Ok, relax, deep breath, ahem!
Claire - best flying with ryan air and should book now! Also have a look on aerlingus on the net and see what their fairs are like for when you are going. I think that they are doing some kind of promo at the moment so you might be able to get a good deal. I have no idea about car hire as nither T or I can drive (sad I know!) but both ryan air and aerlingus do a discount with different hire companies that they will announce during as part of the inflight entertainment! Let us know how you get on!!!!!!
Claire, it also depends on where you want to go...you can fly Liverpool to Belfast with Easyjet for very little money. You could then travel to wherever you want to go by renting a car from Easycar.
You are better of flying to Dublin, the roads are pretty crap in Ireland!!!
What a place to stay though!!! I didn't know that existed in Ireland!!! Must make mental note to go there!!!! In wicklow you have a better chance of sun than most other places in Ireland but don't bet on it!! I will try to get back for around that time (on the wedding stuff excuse!) but have to see what finances are like first! Let me know if and when you may be in Cork!
While there you should check out a famous pub called Johnnie foxs http://www.johnniefoxs.com/
It says that it is in the dublin mountains but I was always lead to believe that it is in the Wicklow mountains!! Either way it shouldn't be too far from you!
I will try to find other places and bars of interest for you!!!
Would you like some Irish phrases?? not that you will need them of course!
