Hi Mel

If you mean the Canadian Rockies then I was there in June 2000 for 5 days. It was really lovely and scenery was amazing. It was busy though and if you want to do trips then its probably worth booking them before you go. The weather was good although a bit chilly sometimes. There is still snow on the tops of the mountains so you need a coat if you go up in the cable cars but its great fun though.

It is quite expensive there in the summer. My parents were there last summer as we have relatives nearbye and they went in August as my brother is still at school. Apparently is was very expensive. When I was there we stayed in a motel that was OK but pretty expensive seeing as it was quite basic. We weren't there much so it was OK. If you want a nice hotel then you will pay a lot more especially in the summer.

There is a lot to do there and eating out isn't too bad. There is quite a choice of placesto stay from B&B's to posh hotels. Try having a look at this website:

http://www.lakelouise.com

We had dinner in the chataux one night which was amazing. Apparently its quite expensive in the summer as they don't get many visitors in the winter apart from skiiers so they put their prices up to make more money.

One thing you might want to think about is that the different towns that are there are quite spread out so you might want to hire a car to get about. If you do go then a trip on the train through the mountains is wonderful.

We had a great time so if you can then I'd say go as it was lovely.

Let me know if there is anything else you need. I can also mail my cousin for info if you want.

One more thing, it was busy when we were there in June so mught be worse in July and August. There were also hundreds of Japanese tourists about, apparently its not really that far away from them.

Another website to have a look at is:

We stayed in Jasper then went to Lake Louise and then on to Banff.
