works holiday to N.I
We're plotting our end of year (May) away day and are wondering about N.I. You can fly from Liverpool to Belfast with Easyjet for next to nothing - to Belfast International me thinks which is a way out the city?
We're wondering about having a seaside / fresh air break and I'd love to go up to the Causeway.
Is this feasible for 2 nights? I can't get my head around scales because I know nothing about the place! Should we be going somewhere else?
Help me! I want to sound knowledgable and fab!!
Thanks girlies (and...)

I'll leave this to my lovely wife to answer , but the flights are dirt cheap (we're probably going in May for £2.50 plus tax!!!)

It's well worth it for 2 nights..... I've even done it for a one night trip!!
Head up the coast to Portrush (holiday type place) great for heading to Giants Causeway! (and Carrick - a- rede.... an old rope bridge)
It's totally fantastic & I'd say GO FOR IT!

Do it!
Yes, Easyjet flies into Belfast International Airport.
You can either hire a car there (unfortunately not by Easyjet) and travel from the airport to the coast without any problems.
Or you can get the Airbus from the airport to the main bus stations and railway stations every half hour or so. If there are a few of you it works out the same price to get a taxi.
The Giants Causeway is a lovely place to visit, and I have been too afraid to even see the Carrick a rede rope bridge!!
Portrush is a true seaside resort - funfairs, etc and a night life. Some of the university students from University of Ulster (Coleraine Campus) live there. Coleraine is the main shopping town in that area, and you could always see if you could visit the Bushmills Distillery - the oldest legal distillery in the world.

Oh - just had a wonderful thought!
Why not stay in the hotel in County Monaghan where Paul McCartney and Heather Mills got married?(Yes, I know it is not in Northern Ireland, but it is only a couple of hours from Belfast)
Here is the weblink:-http://www.castleleslie.com/ - for Bed and Breakfast in May I have seen prices from £95 per person.

Yes yes and yes again! I'm a big NI plugger!! I really should go & work for the Tourist Board & get all this out of my system..
Check out some of the gorgeous places on the National Trust website for a start - Castle Ward.. then you can get the ferry across to Portaferry (where my mum's from!) and have dinner at The Narrows, and a lovely leisurely drive up Strangford Lough towards Newtownards, then climb up to Scrabo Tower to walk off dinner and see the sunset, and suitably refreshed, back in the car and home. Possibly my favourite part of the world, honest!
There's so much to see that people never think about (basically don't get out of the pub long enough!), and they think Belfast is all there is.
You really do have to drive up towards the Giants Causeway & do all the Glens of Antrim, stunning, really stunning. Maybe stop off at Ballygally Castle for a bar lunch, and head up to Glenariff Park first. If you need more info, Cor (if she's ever on here again!) would be the best person to ask - she knows Portrush etc. like the back of her hand.
Oh, and of course you can go to Carrickfergus and see the castle(see below!). And while you're there could you pop in to see my mum & give her a hug and tell her I miss her?? She'll gladly serve up a bumper lunch, as long as you wait for her to find her "best china"...LOL....

They shut the infamous 'black taxi' rank outside Castle Court shopping Centre. Shame really!

I've got a feeling my boss will book the flights this weekend so that's cool!
We've only got to pay for them so that's only £40!
Hurrah!
Reckon we'll avoid farmers and taxis as much as we can though...
