Talking The Groovy Honeymoon Cottage

I have just returned from an absolutely fabulous week in the Groovy Honeymoon Cottage at Monkhouse Hill near Penrith. I say just, it was actually a few hours ago, but I had 998 posts to catch up on here!

To Claire W (who has already asked about it) and Cupid (and anyone else who booked a week there) you are going to have fantastic honeymoons! Ours was kind of a second honeymoon thanks to my having booked it via MGW and Jennifer the owner thinking that it was my honeymoon but hey, I plan to make all of my holidays honeymoons from now on.

Anyway, the owners are lovely (and hello if you are reading this!) and the property amazing. Everything was beautifully developed to the highest standard. We had champagne, flowers and chocolates awaiting us. Everything was new, as we were the first people to use the cottage (although Claire and Clare needn't worry, we looked after everything!)

I highly recommend having a sauna and steam bath en suite to your bedroom! It was fantastic, although Mark says that we are not going to be building a sauna in our garden shed We were sat in there one evening and I could hear a clicking noise, we decided that it was the electricity meter spinning around though!

Apart from having a wonderful time in the cottage there was loads to do in the surrounding area. From walking and view admiring at Ullswater; cultural museum type things at Rheged, and shopping in Carlisle, we weren't stuck for things to do at all.

We had a fantastic week and I want to go back again now. Perhaps for our wedding anniversary. Oh, and seeing that everyone wanted to join Claire W on her honeymoon, we had a look at Great Calva that sleeps a dozen or so people. If she had booked that one, we could have all gone together!

Anyway, a few pictures now. This is the Super King Size bed that we felt a little lonely in the first night as we kept losing each other!

This is the view of the front door from a spot in the above photo. Chapel Beck was the upstairs bit in the corner.

This is the view from the edge of the drive out of the garden and to the fields beyond. Did I mention that we had fantastic weather all week?

This was the day we went to Ullswater. It was a bit misty, but otherwise very nice.

And this last picture has very little to do with the cottage at all, but we drove to see the baby FROM the cottage, and I love the photo! This is Mark trying to look relaxed with Daisy. I think that she was the first baby he had held!

Looks and sounds great! Think Nick and I should book in for a few days too, considering abroad is out for us for a while???
