How to Get a Great Wedding Hairstyle
Preparations that go to hairstyle and makeup are comparable to that of wedding dress preparation. But with the right amount of leg work, inquiry and good luck, things will eventually fall into place. Generally, the bride will be the center of attention during the wedding. Her hairstyle, therefore, should match that exuberance without overcoming the bride and her dress.
Associated with choosing the right hairstyle, research is important. Be sure to check resources available all over the internet, magazines, TV, and on occasion, bridal shows. A bridal consultant is a mine of information; they usually have experience in every facet of wedding preparation.
Start your search six months in advance. Finding your stylist will require recommendations from those around you, recent brides and friends alike. Those who are happy about their stylists would gladly share information about their stylists. Usually, you will have to look for someone who specializes in formal styles. Ask for a portfolio, skim through their creations and try to get the “feel” of that particular stylist. Keep in mind, also, that your hairstyle must synchronize with your wedding dress, your theme, your accessories, and the actual atmosphere of the celebration. Updo’s look great with a back-less design and so forth.
Check if the stylist’s rates include extras such as a trial run before your wedding day. Be sure to ask about volume discounts especially if you’re including the bridesmaids into the picture.
Your stylist should be willing to make time for a pre-wedding day run through. In lieu with this, bring ornaments, veils, etc. and allow your make-up artist to test shades of makeup. Try them with all your accessories.
Do not simply rely on your salon for hair accessories; be sure to fan out and find things that will accent your own individuality. Keep good care of your hair. Don’t trim, color or chemically straighten your hair by yourself within six months of your wedding. If you must, try a Japanese straightening treatment for straight, smooth strands. The true virtues of highlights come out two weeks after so be sure to get them way ahead, in case you change your mind. Partial highlighting will result in two tones when you decide to up do your hair; avoid this as much as possible.
Conditioning treatments will ensure that you have healthy hair; however, during the wedding proper, do not wash your hair. It will be hard to handle; if you must, just shampoo it. If you wish to grow your hair, do so now. Hair usually grows half an inch every month.
Going to the salon early will save you both time and money, since stylists may charge you for the whole day even if they work on you for a few hours. If you find yourself choosing between two hairstyles, you may always use one for the actual ceremony and the other –preferably a more comfortable do – for your reception.
