Default How long were you together before moving in?

When did you feel was the right time to move in together and was it purely to be together or were there other factors involved?

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

Mark and I got together on 24th January 2001 and moved in to our house on 6th December 2002 so it was almost 2 years.

In all honesty, the reason we moved in together was because Mark bought this place as a project but we fell in love with it. Although I wasnt really keen on leaving home, I loved him and wanted to be with him so decided to go for it. Id have been happy to still be at home with mum and dad now but its all worked out perfect and it was the right thing to do.

I think its something youve got to really think about though and no one can say when its going to be right.

Even now, I know that the only reason im here is because mum knew id be ok - if she hadnt, shed have told me and id have stayed at home!

I moved in with Jonathan roughly after 8 months. This being because we were only seeing each other at weekends because of us living an our apart, and he was doing so much driving back and forth. I don't drive you see...

Also, we just wanted to be together, it felt so right.

It came at the right time, because while we were considering it, my work asked me if I would like to re-locate in a different branch which luckily was exactly where Jonathan was living.
It meant more money, and also us being together...

It was the best thing I've done, it pulled us closer together then I ever thought was possible.

On the downside, it has made me more domesticated! LOL

Er, a month?

Our parents thought we were lunatics, esp as I had only just broken up from a long term (6 years) relationship but it has worked! It was purely to be together, I reckon you always know when the time is right.

hmm difficult question. We shared a house after a year but it was as house mates and we lived with my best mate. about 8 months later we bought a house but I still had my own room to escape to which was wonderful then i 'moved' downstairs about a month before we got married. Odd I know but it worked for us

We met in the january, went to Iceland on holiday 2 weeks later, and he moved in at the beginning of may. Prior to that he had only been spending 4 or 5 nights a week at mine!!! I did have a sneaky felling that we were rushing things a bit, but it felt right, and still does 2 years later.

Didn't move in together until we were married, which was 16 months after getting together ...... Army life means no house until marriage, well, unless you want to rent privately!!

Dating to engagement = 4/7 months (unofficial/official)
Enagagement to Marriage (and move to house) = 9 months

We got together November 1999. I bought my own flat June 2000. Mark got a job 200 miles away August 2000. We bought this house August 2001. During the year apart Mark did a lot of driving up and down the country and I was just waiting for him to realise that he wanted me to live with him, as soon as he realised it was a good idea, I put my flat on the market and started house hunting. Of course I then had to wait another five months for him to propose, but we are now exactly where I want to be.

Well, Jamie and I got together when we were 19, so still living at home. I think we could have lived together after a couple of years, but we both wanted to go to University first, so it wasn't until we had been together for 5 years that we moved in. The rest, as they say, is history!

We moved intogether after 7 months. I was at uni and sharing a house with friends while Paul was working and had his own flat. Our landlord decided to sell up and so we all had to move out. We started looking for another shared house but Paul just said "oh you can move in with me if you like" so I did. It was a bit quick but we've been really happy and it has worked out really well. If it wasn't for me having to find somewhere to live then I don't think we would have moved in together so quickly.

We thought about moving in together the first year we were together then changed our minds - we kind of liked having this lifestyle where we had weekends together and the weekdays on our own!

After we got engaed and seta wedidng date we thought we'd better find a house to live in together - otherwise people would think we were a bit odd, being married and living a few miles apart. So I sold my house, and we found the house we are in now and bought it. Moved in in May, got wed in December.

Took Nick anohter two months to finally move all his stuff out of his house into our 'new' one though!

I have lived with 2 blokes previously to Mikey, here are the stats...

1st one was 18 months (7 year relationship) convenience mostly.
2nd one was 3 months (2 year relationship) cost & convenience.
& Mikey was just over a year - we wanted to be together! He only lived a mile or two down the road so it was daft not to

Matt & I Bought our first house after 5 years of being together. I was only 16 when I met Matt so I was not going to buy a house with him until I was a lot older.

We weren't particually looking for a house but we saw it and it was a good deal. so we took it.

Also our relationship was going a bit stale of just seeing eachother a couple of hours a night.

Should have mentioned that Mark actually moved into my parents with me 9 weeks after we got together! He came up one Saturday night to stay and hes never spent another night in his parents again as we went straight from mum and dads to our place.

Cant believe I forgot that

Well...........3 days!

No, i met Dave 3 days before i went travelling to Australia, and after 2 months i came home to be with him, and he literally picked me up from Heathrow and we have lived together ever since!!!!

Everyone said we were completely mad, and when i think about it, it could have all gone very horribly wrong, but we are now married, and have been together for over 4 years!!!

We moved in after about a year I think, we lived together at Uni in a shared house and I had my own room, but that was only for my stuff really, I never slept in there. (there were four other blokes in the house hehe) We lived all over then and bought our house last August....

Wow, that means we have lived together for about five years now...I can't imagine NOT living with him actually, when we were at uni and living apart, we used to be on the phone for about two hours and then one of us would end up getting in a taxi to the other persons at all hours because we wanted to be together so much....pass the sick bucket hehe

Officially Brian moved in 10 months after we started seeing each other. 6 months before that though he'd got a flat of his own but spent most of his time staying here that really he may as well have just moved straight in. I think he only really got the flat so we didn't feel we'd rushed into things but it was a waste of time him having it because we just wanted to be together.
From first meeting though we actually moved in together after 26 years!!!!!
