7 of the bridesmaids were on my side of the family, and 1 on Husbands side.

My Mum paid for all the ones on our side, and my MIL paid for the one on their side (her daughter).

I got the 3 little flowergirl dresses in the sale in Debenhams for £20 each, and the other dresses were made to measure at £150 each because my sister in law is very tall and we couldn't get any which were long enough. Otherwise I probably would have saved money by buying off the peg or debenhams, monsoon etc as they do some lovely stuff.

Little ones silver sandles were tiger lilly at £6 each in Debenhams sale, and adult shoes were strappy designer italian stillettos from the House of Frazer sale reduced from £55 to £12!

My sister and brother did offer to contribute to outfits (their children were bridesmaids), but my Mum insisted that she would pay. Otherwise I probably would have taken the contributions, as people really forget how expensive it all is!

We're paying but only having the one BM so hopefully it won't be too painful an experience. We've also offered to pay for the hire of the mens suits but i'm really hoping that our fathers at least will offer to pay for their own suit hire.

A friend of ours got married last Sept and they asked all of the men to contribute towards the suit hire (ended up paying half I think) which I thought was pretty cheeky at the time. In hindsight though I think that they had the right idea!!

We bought ours for our 3 bridesmaids in the Debenhams sale, they worked out £61 each so not bad!
