I say sod the tradition - he can be the one buying the flowers. Will get my thinking cap on for ideas. Have you thought about a night/weekend away?

A plant for the garden? (If you've got one?!) There might be a variety of something that is called something meaningful for the two of you...?

Hmmm...other than that I'm out of inspiration...

Def let Ian buy you the flowers! As I was 38 weeks pregnant at our 4th anniversary I think we ended up in basingstoke for a meal, and the treat was I didn't have to drive

Here's something to do with flowers thought don't know if it's your thing:

The link is: http://www.a1gifts.co.uk/gifts/Name-a-Rose.asp although I have cut and paste some info below. There's loads of other stuff on this website too.

Name a Rose

This fabulous 'Naming a Rose' unique thoughtful gift can be given to a very special someone whatever the occasion maybe.

How it works
Name a unique rose seed pack on the Amore rose registry, this will then be set on the registry in honour of a loved one and will enable the rose seeds to grow from seedling to a beautiful bush.

Whats included within the pack
Presentation box
Intro Letter
Registration card in which to register your chosen name on the Amore Rose Registry
Personalised Certificate
Unique Pack of seeds with unique database number
How to grow and care for your rose booklet
2006/2007 Rose Calendar
History of roses card

What did you end up getting him Nessa?

I've been facing the same problem, what do you get a man when the anniversary is "fruit and flowers". So, I've solved my problem - I've bought him a grape vine in one of the wineries here in Victoria (you get it for 3 yrs) and a bottle of wine from the winery. He likes red wine, so this way he gets flowers (on his grape vine - which has a plaque and you can visit) then fruit, then best of all - booze from fruit!!!
