Eternity Rings
Have any of you lovely ladies got an eternity ring? Rob was going to buy me one for Grace's 1st birthday (though I'm still waiting on the flowers I was promised when I gave birth to her ) and I'm not sure whether we should spend the money or not... The spendthrift in me is saying the money could go on something more useful like for the house, but then again, how often do I get something nice?!
If I was going to get one I wouldn't wear it on my ring finger as my engagement and wedding ring are twisty and it would have to made. I was looking at this type as well as they're a little bit different.
So what do you think? Should I be sensible or should I let my gorgeous man treat me??

Its up to you
I find it weird that people get them so soon these days but having said that I've become a little jealous of everyone else getting them and not me so I have one on order with my sil for our 5th anniversary. Knowing her speed though as she has two jobs as well I may get it sometime in the next year or so maybe for our 10 years together anniversary instead. Having said that I'm not getting an actual eternity ring so maybe thats my way of getting round the tradition side of it. I will be wearing on my rinf finger though as is traditional for eternity rings.
Out of the three you posted I like the middle one best but I'm known for not really being into diamonds. I like the setting though

I say 'yes' but also say that it doesn't have to be expensive as to me, it's the sentiment that counts.
I've got one in Wyatt's birthstone, it was off the GemsTV website and it wasn't even remotely expensive. I wear it on the middle finger of my right hand as my wedding finger would look to busy and chunky otherwise.

I was thinking of getting one with Grace's birthstone in it too (though I would need to find out what it is first!). These ones above aren't as expensive as they look Rob pointed out a few today near £400 and I nearly collapsed

Steves definitely done it the cheap way (but better for me as I dont wear much jewellery)
I'm having diamond-clear-Matt, peridot-green-Nia. Garnet-red-me, tourmaline-green-steve and zircon-clear-jamie
(getting a combination that will all facet was hard work hence I know so much about birthstones now)
a ring for each childs birthstone would have added up a bit

Take the ring!
We still haven't sorted out one for me yet - my engagement and wedding rings would have to go back to the jeweller who made them in order to match up the eternity ring.

Me too, and it's in Manchester! Agree with Lauz though, another ring on that finger would make it look too chunky.
Think I will go for it. I've heard differing views; you get one when your first child is born, or after 5 yrs, after 10 yrs, after 25 yrs (could I wait that long..?!). Thanks for your opinions, got a wee while to think about the design now

I absolutely love the first one, and I say go for it!
I got my eternity ring last year in America, they are called Anniversary rings over there, and since I had been married a year I thought why not and talked Nick into it!
I too thought another ring would look too much on my wedding finger, but I got a kind of wishbone shape which twists in the middle, with round diamonds one side and baguette diamonds the other. It actually looks really nice with the other two rings and fits into my engagement ring which is a funny shape.
As for the cost, I say go for it. How often do you really treat yourself?? You deserve it.

I liike the 2nd on the best although i am also not a lover of clear stones. My favourite would have to be amethyst or something else purple.
I have also bought jewellery from GemsTV and think their prices are fab.

I think it's lovely to get a ring. I don't get any jewellery (moan moan) but for us, our priority is getting the house sorted and we are quite skint and have other priorities. When we are straight I will coerce Nick into buying me nice things. So I say take it while you can get it! They all look nice to me!

What's an eternity ring when it's a at home??
Or maybe we're just even more old fashioned in thinking that the fact I have a wedding ring is enough to remind me that I've made a life long commitment
Or maybe I'm just another who doesn't get jewellery anyway................ hmmmmmmm

Def get him to treat you. You deserve it!
I like the 2nd best.
I had one for my 21st but am ashamed to say I don't wear it anymore.
I think the birthstone idea is lovely.
