Default Groom's speech

H2B and I are writing his speech at the moment, and wondered if any of the SM's still have their hubbies speeches for inspiration? What are the main points he has to make?

Hope you can help

If we got it right, our speeches went something like this.......

My brother (or your dad etc) made the 1st speech. His was VERY funny, espcially when he toasted us (he actually had toast on string and hung it round our necks!! )

He then toasted us!

Then Mark stood up and thanked Iain for us, then gave out thank you pressies, thought of people who couldn't be threr and toasted the bridesmaids.......

then best man thanked Mark on behalf of bridesmaids and told funny stores, read message etc.

Marks speech wasn't very long, he said how beautiful I looked, thanked parents etc (if they helped) and thanked everybody for coming to help us celebrate. It wasn't a humorous speech, just a few mintues to reflect on the day

Sorry this wasn't much help, but your h2b won't need to say a lot, it's more left to the father/brother and best man!

Thumbs up His speech was AST' NISHING!

When it was time for Gothgroom on the day to do his speech... I was astonished! Not only hadn't he written it, but he stood up and the room filled up with an expectant atmosphere - it was just as if heaven had settled in the room- My husband starting in a very poised and distinguished voice proceeded to tell the world how wonderful I was!!! LOL He also so modestly said that his speech was easy because it was mainly to thank people...
But most of all a part of his speech was in French!!!
So that was truly special and wonderful!

A great time! maybe the one that touched me the most during the wedding!

PS Gothgroom to H2B, don't panic, just 'ad lib' it, but remember to thank all the mum's, dad's, caterers, staff, bridesmaids, best man and most of all your new wife... It doesn't matter if it is 30 seconds long or 10 mins, just be cool about it. It is your day as well so enjoy it too.... Good luck....

Nice advice, Gothgroom . I normally "wing it" when it comes to public speaking but I may prepare this one a bit better
