Default Selling items after wedding...

Hello!

I am wondering about selling my dress etc. after the wedding and wondered if any SMs have done this? Also BM dresses, accessories and the rest.

If so, how did you go about it? And what % did you lose etc?

Thanks for your help

Mel

I was going to sell my dress - but as yet haven't been able to bring myself to do so! I think I'll probably end up keeping it now. I'm going to keep all my accessories and my BMs are more than welcome to keep their dresses if they wish to do so.

Mel - why don't you check out some of those 2nd hand wedding dress websites - on some of them they mention the sale price as well as the oringal price - so that will give you an idea on the amount you will lose.

Part with my wedding dress? Are you mad????

I want to keep my dress for my daughter (if I have one) and if I don't, for any nieces/grand daughters that may come along!

I have put all my accessories somewhere safe, dyed my shoes black (they were ivory satin), wear the pearls every now and again etc etc, and my cbm kept her dress (she paid for half!)

Nope, just can't bring myself to do it

I don't know whether I'll be able to do it in all reality, but I don't know what point there is in keeping it.

If my mum asked me to wear her wedding dress, I'd keel over, so I'm taking the same line of thinking for any of my daughters-to-be!

My mum kept her wedding dress and then hacked it to pieces when my brother was born to mke a christening gown - so it kinda ended up being useful and was recycled!

I tried to sell mine, but I think I was asking too much money for it.

I was going to sell it for £300.00ish and it was originally just under £700.00.

However, I am quite short (5ft 2ins) so that excluded half the B2B population, and I think that most brides would like to own a dress that is all theirs and hasn't been owned by anyone else before.

I've given it to a shop now to sell as and when.

I would have kept it, but our loft is old and lets all kinds of rubbish through the tiles (not felted) and it would have just got ruined.
