Can't get used to Mrs - Wedding Forum

I really cannot get used to being called a Mrs.

It makes me feel old.

I'm sure I will get usedto it in time.

Took me at least 3 months to get used to listening out for MRS Bryan!! Kept sitting there like a lemon

I now get insulted when people still call me Miss or Ms. Don't know why, guess it's just one of life's mysteries!!

And last week at the dr's, it made me smile when I saw my married name come up on the board! :teehee:

Agreed - at first it is the wierdest thing.

Have you managed to sign your name wrong when buying anything yet?

It will come and like Lo says, you'll be a bit peeved when people don't call you Mrs in a few months.

I am still signing in my maiden name cos I haven't changed my bank cards yet (next thing on my list).

I have been practicing it though. It changes everytime.

Hi Karen,

What gets me is when I pracise saying "my husband" - I just end up rolling around laughing!!!

THen I feel bad and wonder if I'm ready to get married if I can't take it seriously!!

Got my passport yesterday - Mrs Carmella van Lierop... try not laughing at that!!

I bet we all get used to it in the end though..

People at work keep calling me Mrs Hill and I keep telling them to stop it as it makes me feel old!!!

I can't get used to it yet. Well I suppose I've got the rest of my life to get used to it haven't I.

Having an unusual 1st name, Ilona, I often get called Bryan Ilona, as they assume it's my surname! I also receive countless e-mails addressed to MR Bryan, so I send off snotty replies with MRS written in bold and capitals at the bottom!!!

I still laugh when I have to say "Have you met my husband?" It is still strange nearly a year down the line!! :teehee: I call him my hubby to make it sound better!

Oh, and I make him call me BOSS, coz wife makes me sound like a boring, nagging woman who sits at home
