Since Ewan was born I've spent many hours sitting awake in the night feeding him or just sitting with him sleeping on me. Neil treated himself to an iPod touch when he got promoted a few months ago and I have been borrowing it every night so I can go online to while away the hours. It has truly saved my sanity
anyway yesterday was our 4th anniversary and we usually don't bother with gifts or cards or anything so I was very surprised when he handed me a little box when he came home from work. He had bought me my very own iPod touch! Engraved and everything! And the little card with it made me cry, he had written "To Mrs H, You've made me the proudest husband and dad by being the best wife and mum I could imagine. Mr H"
everytime I read that i well up again!
It was such a lovely surprise, he is fab
I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.
You are worried about seeing him spend his early years in doing nothing. What! Is it nothing to be happy? Nothing to skip, play, and run around all day long? Never in his life will he be so busy again. ~Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Emile, 1762
